Community Health Centers are required to serve all residents of their service area with charges on a sliding fee scale based upon ability to pay. CHCs provide comprehensive health care - this includes primary health care and preventive care for infants, children & adults; some urgent care; mental health/substance abuse; dental; and pharmaceutical services. CHCs must be either a public or non-profit facility that is governed by a Board of Directors. At least 51% of the CHC s Board of Directors must be composed of members who are patients at the center. This means that the community has a voice in the services offered, helps to assure quality of care, and determines the future of the Bullhook Community Health Center.
Bullhook Health Center originated in September 2005 as a section of the Hill County Health Department, funded by a federal Healthy Communities Access Planning Grant. This grant allowed the Health Department’s Bullhook Clinic to offer medical andcare management services to the community with a sliding fee scale. Patients were able to access coordinated and holistic care with other providers in the community. On July 1, 2007, a federal Community Health Center Grant was awarded to the board of directors for the new organization called the Bullhook Community Health Center, Inc.
Bullhook Community Health Center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
We are committed to excellence in patient-centered, accessible,
cost-effective and timely primary health care for all.
The Bullhook Community Health Center provides healthcare services that help reduce the financial burden placed on the community when uninsured and underinsured residents cannot get needed healthcare or cannot pay for the healthcare they do get.

Our commitment to clinical excellence stems from our mission to provide complete healthcare for our patients and their families, regardless of ability to pay.
We aim to be your medical home model, providing care from pre-conception (before pregnancy) through the geriatric (elder) phase of life, with age and gender-specific care available, such as care specific to women's health (annual PAP exams and breast exams), and children's health (annual well-child check-ups and vaccinations).
We combine timely preventative care, education, counseling, case management, urgent and primary care to ensure that our patients and their families have the information and tools necessary to take control of their heath and increase the quality of life on the Hi-Line. We currently provide referrals for patients in need of significant behavioral healthcare, such as those patients with chronic pain or significant depression.
Our dental branch provides complete oral care including the treatment of cavities, tooth removal, crowns and bridges, root canals, oral hygiene (teeth cleaning) and educational tools for continued oral health.
