Planning and Development of the New Bullhook Community Health Center
The Board of Directors, Officers, Providers and Staff are all very excited for the opportunity to build a new centrally located community health center. Final designs for the site and structure are nearly complete in anticipation that construction will begin sometime in the spring. When finished, the new facility will house the organization’s medical and dental clinics, addictions counseling programs along with expanded patient support services including an on-site pharmacy and community education and wellness training area. As part of a long-term, comprehensive strategic facility development plan, the construction of the new community health center will position Bullhook to better serve its ever expanding patient base, while allowing for the full integration of the “Medical Home” treatment model adopted by the organization in 2011

“The care we provide whether through prevention, education, counseling, medical care, dental care, or care management is focused on the collaborative treatment of the whole patient. The new facility will provide yet another mechanism whereby we as an organization can successfully remove traditional barriers to continuity of patient care by changing the delivery model and adding teams and care coordination to support the health provider, while continually striving to improve everything we do in relation to quality care and the overall patient experience”. Cindy Smith, CEO
Consolidation of Bullhook’s primary medical and dental care services at one principal location affords patients in the community the opportunity to access a variety of comprehensive health care specialties, individualized treatment plans and experienced professionals and providers.
Funding for the facility development project was secured using a multi-million dollar capital development grant awarded to Bullhook by the Department of Health and Human Services in conjunction with the syndication of the tax benefits associated with the development through a New Market Tax Credit investment structure.
The Board of Directors have engaged the professional services of a number of very exceptional and experienced project partners from the fields of architecture and engineering, general contracting and project management, geotechnical sub-surface testing, environmental hazard analysis, surveying, banking and lending, community development, as well as accomplished legal and accounting firms.
